Medical Digital Infrared Thermal Imaging (DITI)
INTRODUCTION
Medical Digital Infrared Thermal Imaging (DITI) is a diagnostic technique that is non-invasive and involves no pain.
Digital Infrared Thermal Imaging has been used extensively in human medicine in the U.S.A., Europe and Asia for the past 20 years. Until now, cumbersome equipment had hampered its diagnostic and economic viability. Current state of the art PC based IR technology designed specifically for clinical application has changed all this, making Digital Infrared Thermal Imaging available to all.
There is now a completely safe test that can aid in diagnosis, treatment and monitoring with absolutely no risk or radiation exposure.
HOW DOES IT WORK ?
An infrared scanning device is used to convert infrared radiation emitted from the skin surface into electrical impulses that are visualised in colour on a monitor. This visual image graphically maps the body temperature and is referred to as a thermogram. The spectrum of colours indicate an increase or decrease in the amount of infrared radiation being emitted from the body surface. Since there is a high degree of thermal symmetry in the normal body, subtle abnormal temperature asymmetry's can be easily identified. The examiner is able to easily visualise, interpret and quantify changes in skin surface temperature, for the patient to submit to their health professional for further evaluation.
APPLICATIONS (FUNCTIONS)
· Oncology – early cancer detection
· Extra-cranial vessel disease
· Neuro-muscular-skeletal diseases
· Vertebrae (nerve problems / arthritis)
· Lower extremity vessel disease
· Cardiovascular and circulatory disorders
· Respiratory disorders
· Tissue viability
· Digestive disorders
· Urinary diseases
· Lymphatic dysfunctions
· Reproductive disorders
· Nervous dysfunctions
· Endocrine disorders
· Locomotors disorders
· Surgical assistance
· Skin problems
· Ear, nose and throat dysfunction
· Dentistry
APPLICATION DETAILS
The Digital Infrared camera helps in providing high resolution images that help in very early diagnosis of cancer.
This diagnostic tool has been very useful in identifying breast cancers much earlier where, even mammograms have failed.
Hemorrhages and clots within blood vessels can be identified by these Infrared cameras.
Similarly Infrared cameras play a major role in identifying neuromuscular diseases.
ADVANTAGES
1. PAIN FREE, with no side-effects!
2. Non-invasive
3. No Physical Contact
4. No Ionizing Radiation
5. Safe & Affordable
